Over 60 bowlers participated in our first annual Bowling and Blues fundraiser at Schwoeglers Park Towne Lanes. Friends, families, musicians, MBS members and nonmembers all had a fantastic time.

Our 2nd Annual Bowling & Blues Fundraiser  will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 . Registration is open!

Come support the Madison area blues community and have fun too! Amateur and expert bowlers welcome! Teams of 4 bowlers have the opportunity to bowl with local blues musicians who will rotate throughout the lanes. There is something for bowlers and nonbowlers at this family-friendly event. There will also be 50/50 raffles,  drink specials and Birddog Blues Band  will play in the bar after Bowling. Come join us!

A portion of the money raised will go towards the Madison Blues Society Scholarship fund! The rest goes towards opportunities that serve our mission.

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Form a team of 3 to 4 people – Friends, co-workers, family, or anyone you’ll have fun with!  People without teams can bowl too!  We had lots of single bowlers last year that we paired up with other bowlers and they all had a blast!
2. Register your team. Registration is open via Eventbrite. Click here. 
3. Bowl & have fun! – Come to the event and have a ball! There will be music, prizes, raffles, and more!

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

11:30 AM – 5:00 PM – Blues Society Drink Special in the bar
12:00 – 5:00 PM – 50/50 Raffles
12:00 PM – Badger Mens Basketball game  starts in the bar. Come hang out with us and socialize with other blues enthusiasts.
1:30 PM  – Registration
2:00 to 4:00 PM – Bowling
4:15 PM – Birddog Blues Band  in the bar 

Musicians scheduled to attend/bowl:

YES! Bowling! You always have more fun bowling that you think you at going to, so come bowl and raise some money Madison Blues Society at the same time.  Amateurs and experts are welcome to participate. Honest.  It’s not a tournament. It’s a reason to come out and celebrate blues music and bowling in the Madison area. Not a trained expert on blues music?  It’s OK, we want you to come and get a taste of the blues vibe in Madison. We promise there is something for everyone.

Is this event family friendly?
Yes! Families are welcome to bowl! We even have super fancy electronic bumper bowling available for kids (and most drummers!). Kids under 17 can bowl with a parent or guardian. Everyone will need to sign a waiver at check-in.

Rumor has it that musicians will be bowling with us. What gives?
Each team of 4 bowlers will actually have a 5^th bowler per team. Several Madison area blues musicians have volunteered their time to come out and bowl with our participants. They will bowl a frame for one team and then rotate throughout the lanes. This is a fabulous way for musicians to meet blues enthusiasts and impress people with their bowling skills (or lack of them).

We only have 2 people who want to bowl, can we form a team?
Every team needs  of 3 or 4 people. But we have a hard working individual that will help match up individuals with others looking to bowl. Just register individually and write in your team name as {Super Solo} and we will match you up with other pairs and individuals looking for teammates. Please note: this is not a dating service, nice try, though!

Will there be event day registration?
Yes. Registration will be available on event day, but  space is limited and not guaranteed. We urge you to register early!

What other activities will be present on event day?
A 50/50 raffle and silent auction will take place in addition to a fun day of bowling. The Birddog Blues Band will play in the bar after bowling. Bring your friends and family! There is something for everyone.

Will food and beverages be provided?
Food and beverage will be available for purchase through Schwoegler’s and a special “blues drink” will be available with a dollar of each purchase going to Madison Blues Society.

Ooopsie – can I cancel?
Sorry there are no refunds, but you can certainly transfer your registration to someone else. If you do this, just email info@madisonbluessoiciety.org with the name change, so we can appear to know what we are doing at onsite check in.

Can I have more than four bowlers on my team?
There is a limit of 4 bowlers per team.

Can I have more than four bowlers on my team, pretty please?
No. We love you, but no, no, no.
