Bus Trip to the 2024 Chicago Blues Festival

Greetings Blues Fans,
Our bus trip to the Chicago Blues Festival on Saturday, June 8 is shaping up.  We hope you’re feeling some FOMO (fear of missing out) about this opportunity!

The Day’s Schedule

8:00 AM:  Bus is onsite at our starting point, Dutch Mill Park and Ride, Madison 53716
(parking at Dutch mill can be sparse, so be sure to leave plenty of time. You can park across the street in the neighborhood, too, but you’ll have to walk a block or so.)
8:15 AM:  Depart from Dutch Mill Park and Ride
9:45 AM: Pick up riders from the Rockford, IL area at Walmart Parking Lot 7219 Walton St.
11:30 AM:  Arrive at Millennium Park, Chicago. Admission to the festival is free.

9:00 PM:  Last performance ends
9:30 PM:   Depart from Millennium Park
11:30 PM:   Drop off Rockford riders at Walmart on Walton St.
12:30 AM:   Arrive at Dutch Mill Park and Ride, Madison 53716

Why is This the Best Way to Get to the Festival?

      • Finding parking!
      • Cost of parking (MBS is picking up the cost of bus parking in downtown Chicago!)
      • Not walking to/from parking!
      • Go home instead of paying for a hotel.
      • Enjoy a beer or two!
      • Be with people you know.
      • And the biggest benefit? YOU DON’T HAVE TO DRIVE IN CHICAGO!

Cost & Cancellation Policy

The cost of the trip is $50/person, which includes a tip for the driver.

No refunds will be given unless the Madison Blues Society cancels the trip, in which case your $50 will be refunded.  
MBS will cancel the trip on May 23 if too few riders are registered.

If a rider registers but cannot make it on June 8, he/she may transfer that registration to another Blues fan.

Bus Rules

  • No smoking, kegs, or glass is allowed on the bus.
  • Beverages are allowed in plastic or cans only. No glass!
  • The restroom is not available while the bus is parked.
  • After we are dropped off at the Festival, the bus will be locked until the end of the event.

Festival Rules

  • Bags are subject to search at the security perimeter
  • Guests ARE ALLOWED to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages to Millennium Park.
  • Guests are NOT ALLOWED to bring in outside alcohol.
  • Alcohol can only be consumed inside the Park at Casa Bonita Mexican Restaurant and in Millennium Hall.
  • Folding chairs are allowed on the lawn but not the pavilion.  We suggest that you consider bringing chairs to avoid prolonged standing at the concert.

Registration

Registration and payment can be taken care of via PayPal.
NOTE: You can use PayPal without a PayPal account – just use your credit card. You’ll do this by choosing the plain white Check Out button in the cart, rather than the yellow button.

If you want to buy more than one ticket, simply change the quantity that’s displayed in the cart.
