About the Artists
Joe’s Truck Stop is a Cincinnati‑based country‑blues/bluegrass/honky‑tonk band led by Joe Macheret, known for tight vocal harmonies, hot picking, and a blend of Bluegrass, Honky Tonk, Western Swing, Old‑Time fiddling, Surf Rock, and Rockabilly. They’re a working touring band with a strong Midwest presence — including Madison, WI, where you’re located — and they’ve played extensively across the U.S. and Europe.

The Bur Oak team extensively renovated and restored the space, exposing the barrel roof, brick walls, and hand-laid tile. We used reclaimed wood specific to the era and added a Viennese-style stage to the great hall. The bar top is hand-poured concrete and finished with a hard lacquer to capture an aged look.
The remodel is new, but the venue feels lived in and cozy, with a current capacity of 130 people. We delight in hosting private events, and the addition of the lower-level gathering hall and suite makes the Bur Oak an ideal turnkey venue for any wedding and reception.
