Mission

“Madison Blues”, our original name, was active from 1994 to 2000, sponsoring Blues shows, ‘Blues in the Schools’ artists, library purchases, socials, fish fries and yearly Blues Calendars. Spring of 2003, “Madison Blues” reorganized and “reactivated” as the Madison Blues Society (MBS).

Racial Equality

The Madison Blues Society is proud to support the goals of Black Lives Matter as well as other non-violent organizations that address racial inequalities and injustices. The Madison Blues Society commits to racial justice and reform. Music, specifically blues, is an effective means of supporting these goals. Blues has a strong foundation in representing and communicating current and historical challenges due to racial injustice.

MBS Mission

The Madison Blues Society (MBS) is dedicated to increasing awareness and appreciation of Blues music as a critical multifaceted force in America’s musical heritage. MBS is dedicated to enhancing the presence and vitality of the Blues throughout the Madison region. We promote and create partnerships to sponsor events, educational programs, and strengthen links between our community and local musicians.
