Mineral Point Blues & Roots Fest

Mineral Point Historical Society benefit, 8/15-16, Mineral Point Opera House and Library Park. $40/$30 per day ($60/weekend).

Begun in 2019 as a one-day fundraiser for The Mineral Point Historical Society, the Mineral Point Blues & Roots Fest has grown into a two-day festival featuring local bands and solo artists as well as award-winning and internationally-touring blues acts. The festival mission has been to produce a community event that promotes Mineral Point as a historic destination as well as to bring to the community a unique annual cultural treat of outstanding musicians from the world of blues music.

In the short life of the festival our lineups have featured such stellar artists as Mud Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters), The Cash Box Kings (with Grammy winner Billy Flynn), Jimi “Primetime” Smith (protégé of Eddie Taylor and Jimmy Reed), Katherine DavisElmore James Jr.Omar Coleman, and Jimmy Burns. We plan to continue offering an annual slate of the best of regional and international blues and roots artists.
