Bruce Wasserstrom is a guitarist, vocalist, bandleader, and songwriter. He’s twice been named Electric Guitarist of the Year by the Madison Area Music Association (MAMA), and his original-music group, Cold Fusion, is a Finalist for several 2025 MAMA Awards, as well as being a 2025 Finalist for the
Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards. Bruce enjoys playing a variety of musical styles, including Blues, Jazz, Fusion,
Funk, R&B, Country, Folk, and Rock.

Since returning to music performance in 2010, Bruce has led several Madison, WI bands, including the Cafe CODA House Blues Band, Cold Fusion, the Groove Busters, Mad City Funk, and the Mighty Groove Masheen. He was the featured guitarist on recordings by Tyler Preston, the Tent Show Troubadours, and (Cadillac) Joe Andersen. Locally, Bruce has also performed with the Clyde Stubblefield All-Stars, the Funkee JBeez, the Blue Zone, Vehicle-6, Tani Diakite & the Afrofunkstars, and others. Before moving to Madison, WI in 1985, Bruce played in several Boston- and Kansas City-area bands.

After retiring from state government work in healthcare policy & program development, Bruce sold guitars & other music gear in the greater Madison area for many years, retiring a second time in 2024. Bruce is currently volunteering with the Madison Blues Society (Board. Member); the Madison Jazz Society (Communications Committee and Madison Jazz Jam events); and COPA–Madison — Community Organizations Promoting the Arts — (Community Ambassador).
